Cleansing plays an important role in any skincare routine; however, not many people use the best way to clean their face. Nevertheless, just like brushing teeth is important for the teeth, cleansing the face is essential for healthy skin.
Just like every other routine, there is a proper manner of cleansing the skin. After the right cleanser for your skin type, you have to go through the procedure of cleansing in the right way. According to the needs of your skin, you might require more than one cleanser.
Why Do You Need More than One Cleanser?
Right cleanser plays a crucial role in your skincare regimen because your skin has too heavy makeup and dirt and pollutants. Your skin becomes thirsty and cranky and might have different needs as per your day-to-day changes in life. When your skin is dry and tight, you have to apply a soothing cream, hydrating gel, or milky cleanser on your face.
When your skin is rough or oily, you need a gel or foaming cleanser which contains enzymes or AHAs. Although this idea seems unnecessary to you right now, you will thank us when seeing the transformation of your face.
If you have dry skin, you should avoid using harsh cleansers as they can turn your skin drier than before. If you have acne-prone or oily skin, avoid using thick or mild cleansers on your face as it can result in clogged pores. The idea of keeping more cleansers with yourself is not an expensive one as when you own more cleansers in your wardrobe; it will last for a longer period.
Once you follow the Korean double cleansing method, you will notice the difference in your skin. In this method, we first use an oil-based cleanser which is then followed by a water-based cleanser.
Double Cleansing Ritual
1 – When your face contains makeup, dirt, or SPF, you should cleanse your face by massaging using oil. The oil attracts oil. Thus it will melt and dissolve all the dirt from your face. You should massage your face with oil for at least one minute.
2 – Pick the cleanser that suits your skin type. If it is winter or your skin is feeling drier, you should first use the foaming cleanser to wash your skin for at least 1 minute. Then, you should apply the hydrating gel to your face.
Choosing a Cleanser Based on Skin Type
Gel Cleansers
Gel cleansers are recommended for acne-prone, oily, normal, and combination skin types. These types of cleansers are excellent for deep cleansing of the skin. Gel formulas are the best Korean cleanser for combination skin which removes excess oil from the skin and makes the clogged pores decongest.
Gel cleansers can be too intense on some skin. You should stop using it if your face feels tight after the application.
