International Yoga Day was June 21, and Portland celebrated in the most Portland way possible: Free yoga classes smack in the middle of Pioneer Courthouse Square. It was incredible to experience so much yogic love, and I squeezed in three back to back 45-minute classes before noon. Rounding it out with my absolute favorite hike, which I custom designed after years of trying various trails around the Hoyt Arboretum, and it was a blessed, fitness-fueled day indeed.
There were Prana yoga mat giveaways, plenty of freebies, a kid’s yoga tent, meditation space, and the incomparable feeling of a solstice sun complementing those sweaty sessions. I also fell in love with the Yoga Joes for sale, which you can check out here.
